Investment Team
The team has extensive investment and executive management experience, and together has over 58 years’ experience in auditing, private equity and investment management. As owner-managers, they are highly committed to ensuring the success of Medu Capital and its private equity funds under management.
Each member of the investment team possesses the necessary skills and experience, which are valuable to the investment process.
The core strengths of the team are to originate investment opportunities, perform insightful industry and company analysis, value companies, structure investment transactions, negotiate and conclude transaction legal agreements and manage and exit investments.

![]() He has 15 years’ experience in auditing, management consulting and private equity investing. After qualifying with Deloitte & Touche, Nhlanganiso joined Gemini Consulting as a consultant in strategy development and business transformation projects for financial services and manufacturing clients. He later joined Brait Private Equity and was appointed as a director and worked on a number of transactions in inter alia the health care, logistics and staffing outsourcing industries. Nhlanganiso serves on various boards of companies in the health care and industrial sectors and was also an executive committee member of the Southern African Venture and Private Equity Association (“SAVCA”). He was SAVCA’s BEE subcommittee chairman. |
Ernest JanuaryBCom, BAcc, CA (SA) |
He has 14 years’ experience in auditing and investment management. After qualifying with Deloitte & Touche, Ernest was appointed as audit manager at Deloitte’s entrepreneurial services division. He later joined Anglo American as a research analyst in their investment and treasury department before being promoted to Portfolio Manager and later Divisional Investment Manager responsible for Anglo American’s pension fund portfolio. Ernest joined RMB Asset Management where he gained valuable experience in strategic marketing to and managing public sector portfolios. He was appointed as a director of RMB Asset Management responsible for transformation and investment management. Ernest is a non-executive director of a number of companies. |

Siyabonga NhlumayoBCom, PGDA, CA(SA) |
After qualifying with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Siyabonga joined the Transaction Services division of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he gained valuable experience in due diligence and valuations. |
Annabelle ClarkBCom, BCom (Honors), CA(SA) |
After qualifying with Deloitte & Touche , Annabelle joined Medu Capital as its Chief Financial Officer. |
Paul MoeketsiBCom, BCom (Honours), CA (SA) |
He has five years experience in auditing, corporate finance and private equity – including auditing at KPMG and as a consultant at Investec Bank Corporate Finance. |
